Anantgram is a living landscape in semi-arid Andhra Pradesh — where water, soil, food, biodiversity, and community are designed as one living system.
Visit to understand. If it resonates, become a custodian through Vanaa.
161 bird species recorded — a living system at work.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
conditions for restoration—cleaner air, movement, sunlight, hydration, real food, deep sleep, quiet.
rare, simple joy—birdsong mornings, clear skies, nourishing meals, unhurried walks.
a culture of care—how we treat ourselves, each other, our futures, and the land.
purposeful withdrawal for recovery and renewal—before re-engaging, not escape.
Anantgram started as a search for chemical-free food. This quest then led to two grave findings: 1. Reliability - the lack of clarity and traceability and 2. Desertification - the impact of bringing food to the table. It led us to believe: Know your farmer or Grow your own Food.
Our purpose widened to find solutions for desertification and growing a balanced, nutrient-rich diet for the body, mind, and soul. We wanted to cultivate all five core groups: vegetables, fruits, grains, proteins, and dairy, and the supporting material for natural farms - biomass, mulch, fodder, polewood, timber etc.
After much study of multiple systems, we chose Permaculture because of its core of love for Earth, People, and Fair Share. Using the Permaculture ethics, principles, and design system, today we are one of the world's largest private Permaculture farms in one of the depleted, degraded uncultivable soils of semi-arid, drought-prone Anantapur.
These five pillars guide our vision, design, and stewardship—day to day, season to season.
We follow Permaculture, building systems that heal the land and create lasting abundance.
Growing chemical-free, natural, nutrient-rich, balanced diet all-year round for nourishment as an outcome of regeneration.
Varied and diversified yields over time, pursuing all 8 forms of capital.
Blending traditional wisdom, modern science, and protracted on-field trials and self-regulation to build resilient ecosystems.
A village of nature stewards—custodians, farmers, makers, guides, learners—sharing love and belonging, supporting diverse needs for generations.
Our work at Anantgram demonstrates how regenerative work can transform even the harshest landscapes into living ecosystems.
Many people visit to slow down and reconnect with nature. Some feel called to go deeper—to support the long timelines that regeneration needs. Vanaa is our pathway for that: a community of custodians who steward a growing forest within the larger Anantgram landscape.
